RefWorks (1-1/2 - 2 hours)

RefWorks is a Web-based citation management software available to Tulane students, faculty and staff. This tool allows you to save, format and include citations within your writing, using a word processing program like Microsoft Word. It functions in a similar way to EndNote, except that it is not necessary to buy a special license to use it and you can access your account from any computer with Internet access. For more information on RefWorks, please see the RefWorks Information Guide and RefWorks Tutorial.

Managing Your Research Materials (1 hour)

Finding information is one thing, but once you have your stack of books and pile of articles keeping it all organized and maximizing the value of the sources is a whole different matter. Students who attend the workshop will leave with tips for narrowing their topics, critical note-taking, keeping track of meaningful relationships between different information sources, and managing their quotes and citations. No sign-up is required.
